What you’re buying

Protection, not just a plug.

SMART-O® drain plugPatented face-sealing plug matched to your vehicle.
Oil-reactive O-ringDesigned to expand slightly on contact with engine oil and support seal integrity.
Installation confidenceUse the torque guidance and fitment checks before service.

1. Remove the old drain plug. Clean the oil pan thread and face area with a clean cloth.

2. Inspect the SMART-O® O-ring. Ensure the O-ring is seated correctly in the groove. Do not apply thread sealant or PTFE tape.

3. Thread by hand first. Always start threading by hand to avoid cross-threading. Thread until the plug head contacts the oil pan face.

4. Tighten with SmarTorq™. Petrol engines: 24.4 Nm (18 ft-lb). Diesel engines: 40.6 Nm (30 ft-lb). Do not exceed these torque values.

5. Check after first run. After the first run, inspect for leaks. The O-ring expands slightly in contact with engine oil to support seal integrity.

Use the fitment check as a starting point, then confirm thread size before ordering if anything is unclear.
